  • How often should I get my fireplace and chimney inspected or cleaned?
    The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends chimneys be inspected annually and cleaned as-needed. Having your chimney inspected by a CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep before lighting your first fire of the season, is the number one way to prevent potential damage to your home or even the loss of life that may result from a damaged or blocked chimney.
  • What are the dangers of an unswept or faulty chimney?
    Creosote naturally builds up in chimneys and can cause chimney fires. Flues can get degrade or become blocked by animal nests, creating fire and carbon monoxide dangers.
  • In an "over the counter" chimney cleaning product sufficient?"
    Professionals who both clean and inspect firebox, chimney flue, damper, weather cap, animal nests No assurance without proper cleaning and inspection. More to come.
  • How can I be assured that my chimney is repair, inspected or cleaned correctly?"
    It is essential that chimney repair is done by someone who is trained specifically for fireplace maintenance. Everlast Masonry is certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America.
